Dieter
founded Awesome
Aviation in 1989. He has extensive experience in all aspects
of aviation and is responsible for the vision, guidance and long-term
financial health of the company. His hands-on leadership approach
to business ensures that he is always present at the coalface and
therefore able to respond swiftly and effectively to the changing
needs of the company and those of its customers.
Apart from his management responsibilities, Dieter is the direct
interface for aircraft leasing and aircraft acquisition. He is type-rated
on all of the company’s aircraft and has extensive flight
experience within the company’s value-added operations. A
past Unlimited Class National Aerobatic Champion and World Championship
competitor, Dieter’s passion for aviation, and in particular
for Awesome
Aviation,
injects a vibrant energy into the company.

Sam
is highly experienced in aviation logistics and maintenance management.
Her portfolio entails overseeing that the company’s aircraft
are maintained to the highest standards, that maintenance scheduling
is optimized and that AOG is minimized. Sam has extensive Jet and
Turbo-prop flight experience which was accumulated spending many
years within Awesome
Aviation’s value-added flight operations. Her extensive
knowledge of aircraft maintenance management as well as her flying
experience in the aviation leasing environment gives her the acute
insight needed to run a division where she excels in meeting operator
requirements and expectations.
In her capacity as the company Training Captain, Sam is able to
bring a culture into the cockpit which not only sets the standard
in the value-added leasing environment, but which also ensures that
the company’s aircraft are operated in accordance with best
practices to ensure lower long-term operating costs and operator
benefit. The unusually high dispatch reliability of the Awesome
Aviation fleet bears testimony to Sam’s abilities.

Russell
has many years of operational and administrative experience in the
aviation environment. He holds an ATP and has experience from both
inside the cockpit as well as the operations centre. Russell manages
all operational aspects of the company including Quality Control
and administration to ensure that the 24/7 flight operations service
is seamless. He holds the portfolio of Managing Director of Awesome
Aviation’s Africa region as well as heading up the
Flight Operations Division.
Russell continually liaises with the relevant aviation authorities
and statutory bodies and faces the ever-increasing challenge of
assessing and implementing value-added IT solutions within the company.
He has earned a reputation as being the right person to get the
job done and his role is pivotal when it comes to meeting, and exceeding,
our clients’ operational expectations. He regularly re-assesses
the company’s systems and services in order to continually
add value that is beneficial to all concerned.

TURNER - Director & Chief Pilot |

Back-to-back,
day and night, 365 days of the year, this is where Awesome Aviation's
flight capabilities in Africa lie. Having a full complement of qualified
and well-rested crew, available on demand, is an ever-challenging
task. Rob Turner is an ATP qualified captain on all aircraft types
owned and operated by
Awesome Aviation.
His
extensive commitment to Aeromedical flying since 2001 has seen
him accumulate thousands of hours of hands-on experience which
enables him to competently lead his team. His Aeromedical and
previous contract flight experience in Africa have exposed him
to the many aspects of operational flying throughout Africa. Work
in such a demanding environment requires a calm and co-ordinated
disposition, qualities which Rob certainly has.
Scheduling
crew for flights and having them available every hour of the year
is managed through his ongoing commitment and dedication. Rob
also focuses on each crew member's recurrent training, license
and regulatory requirements; he chairs technical proficiency workshops
and holds the essential post of Flight Safety Officer. His training
qualifications include Flight Safety International and coupled
with his vast flying experience, they contribute enormously to
the all-important culture of safety within the organisation.

JOEY
VICTOR - Group Accountant |

Tracking and accounting for a fleet of aircraft positioned across
continents with regionally represented subsidiaries and operators
is no easy task. This extremely demanding function is managed by
Joey who has exceptional back-end skills and acute insight into
all aspects of the accounting function within this environment.
Not only does this entail keeping abreast of dynamic accounting
requirements, it also requires dealing with local statutory authorities
in regions where Awesome
Aviation is active.
The
Group Accountant oversees all aspects of the accounting and bookkeeping
functions within the group and its subsidiary entities. In addition
to this, Joey’s portfolio also extends to dealing with exchange
control, capital purchase planning, capital expenditure, foreign
exchange and financial audits, as well as management of the group’s
accounting and administrative systems’ integration process
which maintains an effective flow of data intra-company.
