Awesome Aviation is partnered with National Airways Corporation to serve the Pacific Rim, Australasian and South Pacific regions, primarily focused on Leasing and Sales of Beech 1900 Airliners.

Martin Banner, Nigel Forrester and Hennie Smit serve together with Dieter Ebeling and Sam Prentice on the board of Awesome Flight Logistics (Pty) Ltd, with company equity being held by NAC and Awesome Group. The company was primarily established as an aircraft asset manager and owner which supplies aircraft on contract lease to the Australasian environment. There is daily, active involvement from all of the board members alike and this has manifested in the company becoming a powerful aviation resource benefiting both stakeholders and customers alike. The success of this venture is largely due to the diverse value-added contribution brought to the table by both stakeholders.

National Airways Corporation (NAC) was established in 1946, offering one of South Africa's first air charter services. Over the years the company has become one of the largest general aviation companies in Africa and one of the largest of its kind in the world.

The company specialises in aircraft sales, aircraft maintenance, refurbishment, avionics, parts sales, charter, contract flying and pilot training. NAC is an Authorized Sales Representative for Gulfstream, a Master Dealer for Raytheon Aircraft Company – manufacturers of Beechcraft and Hawker Products, an Independent Representative for Bell Helicopter, a Dealer for Robinson Helicopter and a TECNAM light aircraft agent. National Airways Corporation is an ISO 9001:2000 quality assured company.

From its headquarters at Lanseria Airport in Johannesburg, NAC operates a Southern African network with branches in Botswana, Angola and Kenya. Internationally, NAC Aviation is represented at Oxford Airport in the UK, Elite Jets in Dubai (UAE), Awesome Aviation in Perth (Australia) and Specialised Aircraft Services in Wichita, USA.

In 1999 Imperial Holdings purchased a 62% share in NAC. Imperial Holdings is a mobility group listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. National Airways Corporation (Pty) Ltd is the operating company which is a 100% subsidiary of National Airways and Finance Corporation Limited.

Their charter aircraft include executive jets, twin engine turbo prop and piston aircraft. In addition NAC offers both single and twin engine helicopter services for charter, contract and specialized helicopter missions. A full range of maintenance services for both fixed wing aircraft and helicopters is available. Accreditation by 12 different Civil Aviation Authorities, including the South African CAA as well as American FAA, allows NAC Maintenance to provide service to customers in many different countries. The engine workshops allow NAC to offer the complete maintenance and overhaul service for both Rolls-Royce Allison engines at Rand Airport and piston engines at Lanseria NAC is a Recommended Maintenance Facility for Pratt and Whitney, Canada.

NAC Parts Divisions at Lanseria and Rand Airports offer a wide spectrum of products and services to the general aviation community. They hold extensive inventories of the products for which the company is the direct distributor, agent or franchise holder. These extensive inventories are distributed from warehouses and through the wholly owned procurement subsidiary located at the heart of the aircraft industry in Wichita, Kansas.

Through NAC’s acquisition of 43 Air School it has become the largest pilot and technical trainer of aviation personnel in the Southern Hemisphere. Fully residential airline pilot training is carried out at its dedicated airfield in Port Alfred on the south east coast in South Africa. NAC also has a 43 Advanced Air School located at Lanseria where experienced pilots are able to carry out concurrent training and type conversions on F28 and King Air 200 simulators. NAC’s Flight School at Rand Airport specializes in both ab initio and advanced helicopter training, and is one of the only Bell factory approved training schools in the world.
